Questions
Before you ask us
How long does a certified copy take?
Most district courts issue certified copies within 7 to 10 working days of the application being filed. Some courts allow an urgent application at a higher court fee, which brings it down to 2–3 days. We tell you which applies to your court when we quote. Full breakdown here.
Do I have to go to the court myself?
No. Our representative in your district files the application and collects the copy. Some courts require a signed authorisation or a copy of your ID — we tell you exactly what is needed and you can send it on WhatsApp.
Is MyCaseFile a law firm?
No. MyCaseFile is a document and case-support service. We do not give legal advice and we do not represent anyone in court. Where legal drafting or advice is needed, we connect you to an independent advocate empanelled with us, who engages with you directly and is solely responsible for that work.
What if the file cannot be traced?
It happens — old records get misplaced or sent to the record room. We keep following up for up to 30 days at no extra charge. If we still cannot get it, you pay nothing at all and we refund any court fee we have not spent.
My district is not on the list. Can you still help?
Often yes. We have partner representatives beyond our listed districts. Send us the court name on WhatsApp and we will confirm within a day whether we can cover it — before you commit to anything.
Is my case information kept confidential?
Yes. Case details are shared only with the representative handling your request and, if you ask for it, the advocate you choose to engage. We do not sell or share your data, and you can ask us to delete your records at any time. See our privacy policy.
