Fetching a document is one thing. Knowing what to file, and writing it so it stands up, is another — and only an advocate enrolled with a State Bar Council may do it. We keep a panel of experienced advocates across the districts we cover, and put you in touch with one in yours.

Once it is drafted and signed, we handle getting it registered.How this is arranged, and why it matters to you. MyCaseFile is not a law firm and cannot give legal advice. What we do here is introduce you to an independent advocate — nothing more. You engage them directly, they quote their own fee, and that fee is paid by you to them. We take no share of it, and we do not mark it up.
This separation is deliberate. Bar Council of India Rule 36 bars advocates from advertising or soliciting work, and bars them from sharing fees with anyone who is not an advocate. So we do not name them, rank them, advertise them or price them here — we simply put you in touch, and your relationship from that point is with the advocate, who alone is responsible for the legal work.

The certified copy is couriered to your address with tracking, and a scanned PDF is sent on WhatsApp the same day it is collected.

Why the physical copy, not just a PDF? A scanned copy is fine to read, but most banks, registrars and government offices ask for the court's original seal and signature on paper — a PDF does not carry that. That is what the courier fee is actually for: getting the sealed, physical certified copy into your hands, not just a photo of it.

Court fee is a deposit, not a charge. The court prices by the page, so nobody knows the exact figure until the file is seen. We collect about ₹300 towards it and refund whatever is left when your copy is delivered. How the money works →

Then, when it is delivered: if the court charged ₹150 instead of ₹300, you get ₹150 back. That money was never ours to keep.
Court fee is paid in court fee stamps bought from a licensed vendor, so the court does not issue a separate receipt for it — there is nothing we can hand you that says "₹150". What we send instead is a photo of your filed application with the stamps affixed, and the copying agency's acknowledgement slip. Between them you can see exactly what was bought and what the court took.
If the court fee is going to run well past the deposit — a full case file with hundreds of pages — we stop and tell you the real figure before spending anything. You decide whether to go ahead.

Before you ask us
How long does a certified copy take?
Plan on about 15 days from the day you pay to the day it reaches you. The court's own part is 7 to 10 working days; the rest is filing at the counter, collecting the copy and courier. Some courts allow an urgent application at a higher court fee, which is much faster — we tell you when we quote. Full breakdown here.
Do I have to go to the court myself?
No. Our representative in your district files the application and collects the copy. Some copying agencies ask whoever collects on your behalf to show a signed authority letter, alongside their own ID — we generate this automatically from your signature, so there is nothing extra for you to send.
Is MyCaseFile a law firm?
No. MyCaseFile is a document and case-support service. We do not give legal advice and we do not represent anyone in court. Where legal drafting or advice is needed, we connect you to an independent advocate empanelled with us, who engages with you directly and is solely responsible for that work.
What does the advocate cost, and who do I pay?
You pay the advocate directly, and the fee is whatever the two of you agree — it varies with the matter, so we cannot quote it and we do not publish rates. We take no share and add no markup. The only money that comes to MyCaseFile is for our own work: the certified copy, the tracking plan, the court visit. If an advocate ever asks you to route their fee through us, tell us — that is not how this works.
Can I use you only for the advocate, or only for the documents?
Either. Plenty of people just need a certified copy and never speak to an advocate. Others already have their own advocate and use us only to fetch documents, deposit fees and file papers at the counter — which their advocate is usually glad not to send a clerk for. Nothing is bundled.
Do I need to be present to register a GPA, SPA or Will?
Usually yes, at least once — the Registration Act generally requires the executant's own presence (or specific proof of identity and intent), particularly for a Will. What we handle is everything around that: booking the slot, working out and paying the correct stamp duty, and getting the registered document back to you afterward. Delhi note: since a July 2026 rule change, a GPA in Delhi given to someone outside your blood relation is no longer registered directly — it is first referred to the Collector of Stamps, which adds time. We will tell you upfront if this applies to your case.
What if the file cannot be traced?
It happens — old records get misplaced or sent to the record room. We keep following up for up to 30 days at no extra charge. If we still cannot get it, you pay nothing at all and we refund any court fee we have not spent.
My district is not on the list. Can you still help?
Often yes. We have partner representatives beyond our listed districts. Send us the court name on WhatsApp and we will confirm within a day whether we can cover it — before you commit to anything.
Is my case information kept confidential?
Yes. Case details are shared only with the representative handling your request and, if you ask for it, the advocate you choose to engage. We do not sell or share your data, and you can ask us to delete your records at any time. See our privacy policy.
